Funded by Child Haven International Canada, Shishu Shorgho started working with destitute Children and Women in Chittagong from 2002. Since then it has provided protection to hundreds of Children and Women . Being the second largest city in the country Chittagong has a grave number of disadvantaged population. Shishu Shorgho’s main program is running “Children Home” for orphans and destitute children. It also runs a school, Medical outreach program as well as scholarship program (Education Support Program) for young girls and boys.
Under the Education Support Program Shishu Shorgho basically supports educational expenses for poor meritorious students in schools, colleges and universities. At present all the education expenses of around 50 students are borne under this program. These students do not stay in the Children’s home. They stay with their families.
On 22th November of 2024, Shishu Shorgho organized a get together meeting with Gias Uddin Salim, Chairman of Shishu Shorgho. Students of the sponsorship program joined that program spontaneously. They also share their progress and difficulties with the chairman. Later he reminded the students that their main duty is to study and build themselves as good citizens of the country. At the end of the program chairman of Shishu Shorgho concluded the program by congratulating the students who did extraordinary results in their last exam.
