Mominur Rahman Deputy Commissioner at Pahartali
Disadvantaged children can also have a signature of merit in the international arena
Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman said that even the disadvantaged children of the society can have a signature of merit in the international arena. Abul Hashem Hasib is a unique example of this. DC made the remarks at the reception and annual award distribution ceremony of Shishu Shorgho at Pahartali Baro Quarter, Anjuman Bhaban on 24 May 2022.
Shishu Shorgho organized a reception for Abul Hashem Hasib for winning a gold medal and two bronze medals in the South Asian Junior and Cadet Table Tennis Competition held in the Maldives. Presided by Syed Morshed Hossain, Secretary-General of the organization and Vice President of Chattogram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Management Committee DC Mominur Rahman was the chief guest of the event. Mrs Mahfuza Akhter, GM Bangladesh Television Chittagong Center, was the keynote speaker. Nurul Amin ward councillor (12) and Robin Cappuccino director of Child Haven International was the Special guest. The chief guest congratulated Abul Hashem Hasib, a disadvantaged child of the organization who won a gold medal and also thanked all concerned of the organization for working with the neglected and deprived children of the society.
The program was conducted by the coordinator of the organization Jasmine Ara. Vice-Chairman Nurul Amin, Treasurer Shahidul Islam, Assistant Manager Farhad Hossain, Accounts Officer Rezaul Karim, Program Officer Yakub Ali Sujan and others spoke on the occasion. At the end of the program, the organization’s children performed a cultural program.
